Since 1973 we have adhered to the same set of values. These have provided us with a consistent framework to help us to make the best decisions for our investors in a changing environment and over time.

Client focused

We always put our clients’ interests first and avoid (not manage) conflicts of interest. We try to build our clients’ trust and confidence in us through offering excellent client service. We design our products and fees so that they tie our success to that of our clients.

Performance driven

We set extremely demanding and challenging standards, aiming to be the best in each area of our activities. Our business model and the way that we reward and promote our staff are designed to encourage excellence. Our performance-based investment management fees make our income more sensitive to long-term investment performance than the size of assets under management. Our senior executives are shareholders in the business, aligning their long-term interests with yours. All other staff have a substantial portion of their remuneration in the form of performance-based bonuses.

We take a long-term perspective on investment decisions and business strategy. We try to establish long-term relationships with clients who believe in us and share our conviction in our investment approach. We offer an uncluttered range of products and services where we believe the application of our skills can add value and be enduring.

Tuyeni Akwenye Investment team

Tuyeni joined Allan Gray Namibia in 2018 and is an analyst in the Investment team. He holds a Bachelor of Business Science degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Cape Town and is a CFA^® charterholder. Tuyeni is also a TASSA designated member of the Actuarial Society of South Africa.

Ray-Ann Isaacs Retail

Ray-Ann joined Allan Gray Namibia in 2018 and is currently a client service consultant in the Retail business. She holds a Bachelor of Human Resources Management and Business Management from the Namibia University of Science and Technology.

Etienne le Roux Retail

Etienne joined Allan Gray Namibia in 2016 as a senior business development manager and is currently the head of the Namibian Retail business. He has nine years of prior experience working in the financial services industry in both Namibia and South Africa and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning.

Birte Schneider Managing director

Birte joined Allan Gray Namibia in April 2011 as an investment analyst. She was appointed as a portfolio manager in December 2019 and managing director in September 2020. Birte holds a Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) degree from Stellenbosch University and a Master of Philosophy degree in Finance from the University of Cambridge. She is also a qualified Chartered Accountant and a CFA^® charterholder.

Danny van Wyk Institutional Client Services

Danny joined Allan Gray Namibia in May 2007 as a portfolio administrator. Following roles as an office manager in 2010 and a client service consultant in the Retail business in 2011, he was appointed as a manager in Institutional Client Services in 2019. Danny holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree from the Namibia University of Science and Technology.
